Chi Nei Tsang: a transformational journey into the gut

I often used to experience debilitating anxiety and fear, and for a long time I knew it was in my gut. That sense of something important or challenging being imminent could make me feel tightness, pain and nausea in my belly. Before life with Mantak Chia and the Tao practices, the form of meditation I had at the time could perhaps, sometimes, give me a bit of mental relief and perspective, but I remember feeling something energetically very stubborn in my body.
Probably in the midst of a covid-lockdown retreat in 2020 or 2021 and beginning to fall completely in love with Master Chia's Universal Healing Tao practices, I came across his teaching on abdominal self-massage. Of course, I absolutely resonated with the idea that emotions reside in the organs and intestines - this is what I had been intuitively feeling for many years, so in many ways I was ripe for this kind of work.
In his demonstration he said something like "find any tension, press in, smile and breathe into your fingers, and spiral into it, until the tension is dissolved." So I copied him, and I vividly remember at several points, underneath my fingertips was a gurgling inside and a very obvious loosening in the intestine- exactly like a knot had been untangled. The feeling of relief and relaxation doing this is amazing. I also knew that his other "chi-training" practices I was doing had a vital role in this apparent healing. At that time I did a full online course with Master Chia in Chi Nei Tsang 1 (CNT). I continued working on my own belly but really didn't have the confidence or ability to work on others yet. I knew I needed hands-on training for that!

In Summer 2022 I had my first CNT treatment with Josefine Reimig in Berlin. I remember all these red lines and dots over my belly, and my belly button relaxing and actually becoming more open. And an amazing feeling of relief! Then in Spring 2023 I met Jutta, a well known senior instructor of UHT, during Master Chia's retreat in Glastonbury. I would describe my session with her as a profound energetic excavation... she was able to detect exactly where I was holding tension, and it also brought up a great emotional release. Jutta would then really become my teacher, as I invited her to teach a workshop on Chi Nei Tsang Level 1 in London in Autumn 2024. After learning how to apply a range of techniques for detoxing the organs, then came the journey of collecting my case studies and learning about other peoples bodies! - between then and now I must have given over 100 sessions, and many reports of emotional and physical symptoms being released. For the learning process, I had to document them - here are some of the outcomes:
A lighter, more relaxed and energised feeling (common to almost every case)
Release of emotional burden
Improved sleeping
Improved breathing
Bloating, heartburn and acid reflux completely relieved
Easier bowel movements
Relieved ankle swelling and better circulation
Lower back pain and tightness in groin relieved
Greater ease of movement
Improved self-confidence and self-image
Fibroids reduced in size
PMS and PMDD symptoms gone
And now - I am very proud to say I am a certified practitioner in Chi Nei Tsang! Thank you to Jutta for the top-quality training, for her generous and loving guidance, and a great friendship. She is one of the most experienced practitioners and teachers in this massage and really represents Chi Nei Tsang authentically in the way that Mantak Chia has developed it and brought it into the world. I'm grateful also to all the students, fellow practitioners and clients I've worked with - and excited for my continuing journey with you in this very special healing art.
